The WSN and their emerging technologies have opened opportunities for future technologies referred to as IoT. The Internet of things has become a very widely spread concept in the last few years. The term IoT can be defined as physical objects that have an identity and exist and move in space and time. The Internet of things allows people and things to be connected anytime, anyplace with anything with any path and with any service.

The Internet of things signifies the whole way from collecting data, processing it, taking an action corresponding to the sign of the data to store everything in the cloud. All these are possible with the use of the internet.

 It can also be defined as millions of heterogeneous interconnected devices through the wireless terminals.

The sensor network is a network with limited communication with the external devices. It needs specific devices or interfaces to exchange the information produced by the sensor network with the external world. It uses internet protocol for connectivity between the internet and specifically WSN. The sensor devices have their own IP addresses to connect to the external world to form an IoT. The IPv6 allows assigning a communication address to billions of devices.

IoT facilitated objects will share data about their condition and the surrounding details with the people, software systems and other devices. This information can be shared in real time or collected and shared at specific time intervals. This helps to identify, track and communicate with objects.

IoT impacts every people life. IoT communicates information to people and systems. It will improve public safety, transportation, healthcare with better and faster information.
